How to clean your pizza oven
Ahh… the pizza oven, a wonderful piece of kit that gives you delicious, restaurant-worthy pizzas in next to no time at all. However, with great power comes great responsibility, and many people cower in fear (not quite) at the prospect of pizza oven cleaning.
In this handy guide you’ll learn the best and most effective way to clean your pizza oven, so keep reading for some useful tips!
Right after you’ve cooked your last pizza…
Once you’ve finished with your pizza oven for the day, we recommend turning it up to around 400°C for half an hour. This will burn off any residue that remains on the stones. It’s really important that you let your pizza oven cool down completely, however, before going onto the next step.
Use a damp cloth…
Once your pizza oven has cooled down, use a damp cloth for cleaning stainless steel grill grates. Wipe the grates clean and use a dry towel to buff it, making it look as good as new!
Remember: never use water on the stones inside the oven, as there’s a good chance they will absorb the liquid and crack the next time they’re exposed to heat.
How to clean your pizza oven stones
It’s really important that you let your pizza oven cool down completely before you even attempt to clean the stones. We recommend waiting for at least 12 hours after cleaning the stainless steel. Using a handheld vacuum cleaner, remove any burnt off residue.
